Giving 2

Why should we give financially to the Church?

Let's be honest, money is fairly tight for most people these days, there is lots of need in the world and whole load of worth causes. So why should we give money and, specifically, why should we give to the church?
Giving imitates Jesus - Jesus gave us all He had. He gave us more than we can possibly imagine and all so that we would become blessed beyond anything that we can imagine. It's His example that enables us to be free from worrying about money and to truly live lives of love
Giving glorifies God - When we give we are giving glory to God who gives so generously to us. Our giving is like putting a match to the fuel of praise that will burn up in thanksgiving that glorifies God!
"Where your treasure is, is where your heart is" - The Church exists to worship God, to love those around us, and to spread the good news we've received about Jesus. This is something that takes our whole heart and it means that our treasure need to be in Him and Him alone!
Giving follows receiving - In his second letter to the church in Corinth Paul tells the people there "You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way." God has given to us all so generously, and to give in response to His generosity is to enrich us in every way
Giving meets needs - Let's face it. there is more than enough struggles in the world. Even in our local area there are people who have real problems with debt, relationships, inequality, homelessness and more. Here at STP we want to be a Church that seeks to make a very real difference to the lives of people who find themselves struggling. It takes money to run the operations of the church, to pay staff and to serve the community

We know that things are tough out there and money is tight for most people, but please pray and think about the contritbution you may be able to make to the Church. It is your generosity that is able to make a significant difference as we seek to love and serve our community and to make Jesus known to those around us
