Christmas

Christmas is nearly upon us! And lots of people are already counting down the days! In our Christmas preparation, you are welcome to join us for some or all of our plans at your local parish church. Here are some of our Christmas specials in addition to our four regular congregations.

Sunday 4th December 10:30am - Nativity Service at St Peter’s. Our primary school aged children will be presenting a very familiar story in a very engaging way for all to enjoy…

6:30pm - Our Overflow congregation with an Advent emphasis, at St Peter’s

Thursday 8th December 4:00pm - 5:30pm *Kids Christmas Party at St Peter’s. Christmas themed crafts, games, snacks and more for primary school aged children. Don't forget to book a place!

Sunday 11th December 6.30pm - Contemporary Christmas Carols at St Peter’s. Familiar and joy-filled carols to help get you in the festive mood.  Refreshments afterwards.

Saturday 17th December Community Carols on the Green 5:00pm - opposite St Peter’s, followed by refreshments in Next Door Hextable. Get to know your community by joining lots of others to sing seasonal songs and carols together. Here’s the songsheet for ease on your phone or device of choice. Printed copies will be provided.

Sunday 18th December 4:30pm & 6:30pm - *Carols by Candlelight at St Paul’s 4:30pm or *later for the 6:30pm equivalent. Join us in the stillness and tranquility of St Paul’s in Swanley Village for a candlelit carol service with mulled wine and mince pies served between services. Don’t forget to book your place.

Wednesday 21st December 11:30am - Midweek Christmas Communion at St Paul’s. Fed up with Christmas music, busyness, pressures and to do lists? This is a quiet reflective service for you!

Saturday 24th December *Christingle Service 3:30pm at St Paul’s and 5:30pm at St Peter’s. All ages 0-99 are invited, even though this is for our children and families in particular!! We really hope you can join us and be reminded what the oranges are all about! Don’t forget to book your place.

Saturday 24th December 11:30pm Christmas Eve Communion at St Paul’s ‘O little town of Bethlehem’ tells of light shining in the darkness. Oh, how relatable this seems over 2,000 years later and how encouraging that our hopes and fears are wrapped up in the love of Jesus.

Sunday 25th December Christmas Day Celebration 8:30am at St Paul’s and 10:30am at St Peter’s. Christ is born, Alleluia! Join us at either service where there might be a chocolate or two!

The Christmas season is a delight for our networks, friends, and family. All are invited! This printed Christmas card will be delivered to each of the homes in our community. All are welcome! Join with us and invite others…

Book in to secure your space at these congregations* because these often get oversubscribed. The links lead you to the Eventbrite bookings platform or email: bea@stph.org.uk and we will do all we can to help you.

You will be so welcome as we share together this Christmas in the reassuring and remarkable mystery of God who has come to us in Jesus Christ! God-with-us changes everything!

All voluntary gifts given this Christmas will be divided between our Community Compassion Fund and IJM. Place your cash or cheque gift to these two great causes at the back of our venue or by electronic transfer via our parish office: Sort Code 20-25-42 Account 80859710 Swanley St Paul Parochial Church Council, General Account.

Our usual Sunday worship patterns continue on Sunday, 1st January, albeit our Overflow congregation will meet on the 8th January instead, at 6.30pm.

Our regular four congregations are: weekly, each Sunday at 0830 at St Paul's and 1030 at St Peter's; our monthly Sunday 1830 Overflow celebration at St Peter’s; and first Wednesday of the month, Wednesday 1130 St Paul’s communion service.
